Connecting Blackbaud Raiser’s Edge NXT and Microsoft Power Platform Increases Team Productivity
Given that University of Kent prides itself on problem solving, the Engagement team welcomed the certified connector between Blackbaud Raiser’s Edge NXT, which is Blackbaud’s flagship fundraising and relationship management solution, and Microsoft Power Platform™, which includes Power Automate. We talked with James Hudson, university Operations Manager for Engagement, about the related increase in productivity and efficiency.
Solving Problems in Less Time
“My experience of using the certified connector between Blackbaud Raiser’s
Edge NXT and Microsoft Power Platform has been great,” Hudson said. “The
connector lets you work directly on the business problem you’re trying to
solve, rather than trying to understand how the APIs you’re using work, greatly
reducing the amount of time taken to create a solution.”
Keeping it Simple
“You also don’t need to worry about how or where you’re going to deploy your
solution as the Power Platform takes care of all of that for you,” Hudson said.
He advised that users can be successful with minimal coding knowledge.
“I would say that if you can understand formulas in Excel, you’ll be fine here.”
Working Remotely with Ease, Flexibility
The connector helped everyone stay on top of fundraising during COVID-19.
“The ease provided with the connector helped make sure that donors are
thanked quickly, and lets the fundraisers easily mark the gifts as acknowledged.
It has also allowed us to provide information to colleagues in other departments
without having to give them access to Blackbaud Raiser’s Edge NXT—for
example providing information on large gifts to our Finance Department.”
