Covenant House Vancouver Covenant House Vancouver Uses Blackbaud Analytics To Achieve Annual and Major Giving Increase of 24% in One Year
Covenant House Vancouver is a crisis intervention center that provides food, shelter, clothing, and counseling to an estimated 2,300 street youth in Vancouver each year. Beginning as a small 12-bed facility, the organization has grown and conducts numerous outreach programs designed to help youth heal from past traumas and improve their futures.
The Challenge: During its early years of operation, Covenant House Vancouver was primarily privately funded and relied heavily on the generosity of approximately 7,200 individuals and organizations to support its programs. However, steady growth put a strain on the organization and intensified the need to cultivate more donors.
The Solution: Covenant House Vancouver chose ProspectPoint™, Blackbaud Analytics’ custom modeling service, to analyze the donors in its database and provide a targeted plan for cultivating support. Finding a service that worked seamlessly with the organization’s fundraising software, The Raiser’s Edge®, was a key factor.
The Results: Gift officers at Covenant House Vancouver better understand the profile of those most likely to give to the organization and can tailor their cultivation efforts, which has helped prompt more than 40,000 constituents to become active donors. The organization also used ProspectPoint research to raise direct mail response rate of lapsed donors from 1 percent to 5.5 percent, and the team was able to increase major giving by more than 50 percent.
